Kudos to DUKE! Way under-rated all year. Incredible effort by a very deep team! IP: Logged |

FYI - it was nice to have Slattery back on the Colorado team, but they still would have won without her, that's how bad they spanked the rest of the field. IP: Logged |

Duke also ran without Laura Stanley. Anyone know why? Is she hurt? IP: Logged |

Was your 5K split for Smith right? 15:49? Then did she really slow down to a 4:18 for the last 1K?? I believed the 5K split because she is amazing, but I was surprised she wasn't under 20. Several people were the other year that they held this thing at Terre Haute. IP: Logged |

quote: The course conditions were totally different this time. It was very muddy/wet. Last time it was significantly colder, but the ground was firm. No one seemed particularly convinced that Smith was running all-out either, but with dry conditions, I imagine there would have been a bunch under 20. IP: Logged |

quote: Stanley was there, and while she was (obviously) not racing, she was on her feet and moving around pretty well. It's entirely possible that she's injured, but if so, it's not a "stay off your feet to let it heal" injury. IP: Logged |

Thats too bad about Laura. They would have done even better with her! IP: Logged |

quote: They might have put some more distance on Providence, but they would need to have found eighty-one points to catch Colorado, which wouldn't have happened even if Stanley had run and won. It must have been tough for her to watch and not race, but she couldn't have changed the team finish order (unlike another injured scorer, Sara Bei - only eleven points between Stanford in fifth and Providence in third.) I think Duke will demand attention at the start of next year's season; Colorado loses bigger points than they do. IP: Logged |

Colorado could have scored 6 runners and still would have won.
