Not a fun topic. I recently had a bone scan because my doctor suspected that I had a navicular stress fracture. I had a lot of irritation on the top of my foot (mostly toward the inside on the big bone that sticks out toward the side of the foot)-- it hurt to push in on it, and the pain traveled into the arch. I had all the symptoms of a stress fracture, but -- thank goodness -- everything turned out okay. I would do a google search on navicular stress fractures so that you can pinpoint the area and the symptoms. I hope everything turns out okay (sorry if this post was not helpful).

Meg, thanks so much for linking those. I was having trouble finding them. I think I'm in the clear based on what I've read on these kind of stress fractures. I've had sore arches for the past few weeks and someone mentioned a navicular stress fracture and I got nervous. I think my problem is something else though.
