I have been told that I have a stress fracture in the navicular bone of my foot. I am not sure whether I should go to the doctor or not because last time this person diagnosed me, she told em I have a pulled muscle when in actuality I needed knee surgery. So if anyone can give me some information on the symptoms of stress fractures. Thanks

Get a second opinion! I was told that I had a stress fracture on my navicular and then spent 6 weeks in a walking cast. Once out it was still sore so I went to a different doctor who ordered a CAT scan because the bones are so small around that area. Turns out I had a bone spur from when I had sprained my ankle 5 months before. Not to say that I think you have a bone spur but....get it double checked especially if it is a doctor that has misdiagnosed you before!!!!!!!

I second the second opinions suggestions... I went to one podiatrist who thought I had a problem with my navicular and put me in a walking cast (AAARRGGH) for four weeks - and months later, when I still was not pain-free, saw another who actually did X-rays which showed no evidence of the problem the first doc had settled on. (Not a stress fracture, X-rays don't always show them.) He tweaked my orthotics, and I was off and running.

Sounds like navicular problems are frequently misdiagnosed.

Well I DID have a stress fracture in my navicular, now there's a screw in there. It was misdiagnosed for a long time - I had my surgery three years after the pain first started. So yes, I would agree that you should get a second opinion and that these things are often misdiagnosed.
